Your adjuster rod may be broken or missing, causing bonnet open/close and aligning problems This used replacement item will probably be stiff, in fact you will likely have to fit it or put it in a vice to adjust it the first time, as like all these style of adjustable rods they stiff up when not adjusted for a while. It will work for its purpose, it wont be a thing of beauty and will have some surface rust, it will only look new if you wish to paint it I have several of these so you will get a random colour one, maybe a yellow one, or green one, or blue one or some other colour one - you will need to paint it if you want it a certain colour.
